The diversity of categories in my portfolio and the works within each reflect where I have been physically and emotionally in time and space. I hope you enjoy browsing the categories!
The pandemic has impacted everyone one way or another. The missed experiences, opportunities, and deviation from the routines and rhythms of pre-pandemic life has been difficult for many.
The contraction of life during the pandemic is reflected in my recent art. Although I prefer to paint on large canvases (and I have several in process), my recent work is on a smaller scale. Maybe I didn't have mental space for a bigger canvas, and smaller size work provided a sense of control and a sense of accomplishment? My subject matter is also on a micro rather than macro scale, and the news cycle has influenced the images of cellular biology into my work.
